Petite mise a jour / a little bit of catching up
Beaucoup de choses dernièrement / quite a few things going on or completed lately
Chi va piano va sano.....e va lontano.....
My spiderweb patch is getting under way, slowly. I have sewn additional triangles to complete each of my blocks and I have assembled 4 blocks. The 4 points star shape produced by the background fabric once a block is assembled looks really good. I am pleased. 8 blocks left now….and …er…well….I ended up assembling things with the sewing machine….I started by hand but lost patience very quickly.
I have finished my big woolly jacket. The plan was to line it with a lovely liberty fabric but it didn’t work out very well so I gave up on that. The wool I used produced a very stretchy garment once knitted and I am not that happy with the overall visual aspect, but despite this, the jacket is very soft and cuddly and I love wearing it.

Other news: I have joined a knitting club near where I leave. They are on Ravelry, so…yes, I now am also on Ravelry and find this network extremely addictive. I am meeting the girls once a month on a Sunday in a pub in Staines and I am really having great fun being in a group with a shared craft, talking about knitting and other things, attempting to talk while knitting (still need some practice on that one). I also sometime try to join their Tuesday meet, not always possible though as Tuesday evenings are clashing with the cher et tendre ‘s karate evening.
Joining this group got me into more knitting and though I knew I could knit I now have discovered that I absolutely love it, kind of on the verge of addiction!
So, I am currently finishing my first pair of socks, I have started to look at Icelandic intarsia (after I found a very appealing flags cardigan by Helene Magnusson on Ravelry), I have started and finished a lovely cardigan with frills for my older daughter, and this Sunday I am doing a knit Along project with one of the girls from knitting group; it is a stole made of one skein (about 420 m). I have picked a yarn by Noro, already did some trials and it looks promising....
Today I have also had the big surprise to receive a request from Ravelry to feature one of my pictures for the frilly cardigan pattern.
Sewing is not left aside. I have made a small tunic found in my Japanese sewing books. This is nearly finished (only the seams left to do). This is for the daughter of one of my friend, a cute little outfit to be worn next week at a wedding in Wales.
