Tourner en rond/ Going round in circles....

Je tourne en rond mais j’avance…. Ça faisait lontgtemps que j’avais envie de tricoter des chausettes, alors voilà ça y est je m’y suis mise il y a quelques semaines lorsque j’ai rejoins un club de tricoteuses près de chez moi. Je me sers du bouquin de Nancy Bush, Folk Socks- The History and Technique of hand knitted footwear. Un bouquin génial sur le plan des explications techniques; Nancy Bush prend littéralement son lecteur par la main dans un pas à pas sur la construction d’une chaussette et couvre toutes les techniques possibles (sympa pour les plus experimentés) de talons et de pointes du pied. J’avais un peu peur au début et étais convaincue que je ne produirais qu’une chaussette célibataire, mais après avoir dépassé l’étape de la tige, du talon, coup du pied et corps du pied, je me dis qu’au fond je lui ferais bien une soeur jumelle à ma chaussette....non?

Going round in circle but making progress….I have been dreaming of knitting socks for quite a long time and this is now becoming reality. I have started a few weeks ago when I joined my local knitting group. I am using Nancy Bush’s Folk Socks - The History and Technique of hand knitted footwear, This book is truly brilliant; Nancy litterally walks you hand in hand through the construction of a sock covering all stages and also including all known types of heels and toe shaping (quite nice for the more experienced knitters). I was a bit worried when I started and thought my sock would probably remain single, but I have now managed to turn the heel and go through the gusset stage and really feel like knitting her a twin sister.

Edit du 3 Mars apres avoir recharger la batterie de mon APN/ Edit on 3rd of March after charging the battery of my camera.Alors voila, je suis prete a faire la pointe de ma chaussette, Youhou!/ ready to get on with the toes. I am having real good fun on this project.

Très réussies ces chaussettes pour une première, bravo. Cette Nancy a l'air bien fortiche, je vais voir si je trouve quelque chose en français, du moins des explications pour sa party socks qui me plait beaucoup.
