Mon gros truc en laine/ My big woolly thing

Un long silence par ici depuis quelques semaines.......Eééééééh hop! un gros truc en laine! Un modèle de chez Rowan, le Mocha Marvel (en bleu pour moi), paru dans le "Simply Knitting" de Janvier 2008. Oui, il m'a fallu 2 ans, non,non, pas pour tricoter la chose mais pour me décider à la tricoter. Et puis pour compliquer les choses j'ai acheter une laine différente du modèle - les pelotes Rowan à 7,95 £ pièce, c'était un peu cher pour moi - donc une taille d'échantillon différente de celui du patron...Adapter les explications....hmmmmm....ça sentait la catastrophe...Et puis finalement je l'ai fait et ça a plutôt pas mal marché (il faut dire que trouver d'autres projets pour écouler 16 pelotes ça donne des ailes...). Je l'ai commencé début décembre et fini hier, enfin presque, il ne me reste plus qu'à coudre les boutons et des pressions pour la fermer. Côté technique, j'ai appris le point de riz double, et je maitrise maintenant les augmentations et diminutions.

Not much happening here for the past few weeks.....Abracadabra...and Pop! here we go : a big woolly thing! A lovely model by Rowan, Mocha Marvel (er..well...ocean Marvel for me as I changed the colour), published in "Simply Knitting" in January 2008. Yes, it took me 2 years (no, not to make it) to actually make the decision to knit it. Just to make things easier I bought a slightly different big wool - Rowan big wool at £7.95 per skein was a bit on the expensive side - and with quite a different tension square to the one in the model, the whole thing looked for a moment like a disaster in the making.... I had never adapted a pattern before. But, in the end I tried and it worked (I guess failing to find projects to use up my 16 skeins of bleu wool probably motivated me to get on with it...). Anyway, I started in the first week of December and finished yesterday, well, almost, I still have buttons and press studs to sew. On the technical side, I now know the double moss stich and I am better at increasing and decreasing my knitting. Cool!

Bon, je vous le remontre quand il sera vraiment fini avec les boutons.

je tombe sur ton blog via ravelry...; moi aussi depuis deux ans j'ai très envie de ce modèle mais comme toi le prix de la big wool me freine j'ai vu que tu avais utilisé la Drops Eskimo as tu eu des soucis de changement de laine???? l'idée de la doubler en liberty est vraiment ravissant..;;
